Where We Live and How We Met
We live in the Town of Danville, Calif. It’s a pretty little community Southeast of San Francisco. It’s known for its good public schools, lots of bike paths and lots of cool parks. We live at the end of a court filled with kids and wonderful neighbors. There is a little creek and a bridge just down the street. When the baby gets a bit older it will be a great place to sail leaf boats and play in the sand.

We met 11 years ago while working for an aerospace company in San Jose. We were drawn to the same company clubs and found ourselves racing together on the company ski team and riding together in the bicycling club. We have been happily married for 7 years and still enjoy the outdoor activities together and with our 5 year old. Because we have so much in common our relationship is fun and easy-going. Ken works as a software Sales Consultant and Kathy is a full-time Mom and volunteers her time at Shannon’s elementary school.

A Stay at Home Mom and lots of "Daddy-Time, too
We feel very fortunate that our children will always have a Stay-at-home Mom. We strongly believe that children need to know that someone will always be there to hold and comfort them when life gets challenging. We want our children to become happy, well-adjusted adults. To that end, we will be role models for tolerance and understanding. We will encourage them to stay true to themselves and to keep their integrity intact. We will also instill the importance of a good education and provide the means to attend college.

Ken is able to have a home office, so there is plenty of "Daddy-time" during the day, too. Very often we have breakfast, lunch and dinner together as a family. We believe it’s important to listen to each other so we allow plenty of time to share our thoughts each day. We are fortunate to have the gift of time in today’s fast paced world.

Since Kathy stays home, the new little baby will get lots of love and attention and be cuddled and rocked all the time. We both come from big families and remember how we loved being entertained by a big brother. Shannon is ready to play that role and laugh and love his new little brother or sister, too. He will surely be a very protective big brother.

We Always Planned to Have a House Full of Kids
We are so looking forward to building our family through open adoption. Since we always planned to have a house full of kids we have plenty of room in our lives and our hearts for the new member of our family. We think it's important to give children the opportunity to experience not only the wisdom and love of parents but also the life long bond of a sibling.
